Predictive maintenance as an element of success in Pharma production
A good predictive maintenance project aims at a situation that is as close as possible to “zero failures”. For this objective, however, it is always necessary to start from an in-depth analysis of the state of the art, where a fundamental role is played by FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis) analysis. These are two methodologies used to identify and evaluate potential failures in products, processes or systems and understand the corrective actions to be taken.
Subsequently, a successful element is to equip with a dedicated maintenance software (CMMS – Computerized Maintenance Management System) in which to register the components, sub-components, times, resources, etc. relating to the plants/machines, deciding the “level” of “depth” of the Database, the intervention times, the methods of the same, etc. This database is refined over time thanks to experience and the redefinition of objectives, always to be crossed dynamically and continuously with any failures that may continue to occur.
It is work that, if well carried out, does not fail to produce results of great satisfaction, with optimization of safety aspects and company costs.
Primeco has carried out and continues to carry out analysis and design work as described above in terms of predictive maintenance systems that have allowed important results established with the Customer and represents a qualified subject for this issue to support the Customer.
